Qualifications
- Two year business related degree required
- Bachelor's or MBA preferred
- Two years minimum of the airline industry experience required
- Proven track record of strong credibility within the industry required
- Five years of sales leadership experience leading a team of sales professionals preferred
- Good understanding of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air route network, its history and partner alliance affiliations preferred
- Excellent PC literacy and knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
- Must be multi-task oriented, self starter and self motivated
- Has demonstrated effective leadership in sales related environment required
- Possess excellent analytical skills required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required
- Demonstrates collaborative leadership style that motivates staff and encourages peak performance required
- Must be personable and professional
- Must be able to work under tight deadlines and pressures in a fast-paced environment
- Must be enthusiastic and willing to take on complex challenges
- Ability to think strategically and 'outside the box' required
- Minimum age of 18

Duties / Responsibilities
- Provides direct leadership to seven sales & community marketing managers and two inside sales support specialist
- Steers the tactical sales efforts to drive incremental revenue through the business travel community and preferred travel management companies; leveraging aspects of our commercial offerings and alliance partnerships
- Responsible for leading the sales & community-marketing efforts in the Pacific Northwest by creating and participating in community-out reach promotions in cities we serve and educating our customer-facing employees on the commercial offerings of Alaska Airlines
- Approves all corporate contracted revenue programs; defines the methodology and works closely with revenue/yield management to ensure Alaska Airlines is best positioned to maximize revenues while maintaining competitive advantage
- Provides ongoing support of the Portland Initiative through frequent appearances to community events, breakfast and evening social events
- Engages employees on a regular basis at local stations briefings
- Prepares and implements district sales plan in accordance with corporate sales objectives Ensures Alaska Airlines is well positioned among its competitors and leverages its position in the marketplace
- Monitors global distribution system information (MIDT) and PRISM data and provides relevant, tactical, moves to ensure maximum revenues are attained
- Provides strategic input to Marketing on advertising or promotional campaigns in both print and outdoor advertising
- Initiates route planning suggestions for Alaska Airlines to network planning
- Oversees contract negotiations and compliance efforts for all passenger Seafood activity into the State of Alaska
- Develops a collaborate partnership with Alliance Partnerships and meets frequently to target potential revenue and joint marketing opportunities
- Represents Alaska Airlines at industry events, business-after-hours functions, corporate trade shows, corporate sales presentations, ensuring Alaska Airlines receives a high level of visibility in the marketplace
- Provides constructive feedback and recognition to employees and develops employees in preparation for advancement within the company
- Other duties as assigned
