Bell Helicopter and Cessna Aircraft, both Textron companies, broke ground on a facility dedicated to service and support for customers in the Asia-Pacific region. It is scheduled to enter service in next year’s second quarter and will be staffed by about 90 technical and administrative employees. Donald Brosious, Bell Helicopter’s v-p of finance for customer support, told AIN, “We will be moving out of the 34,000-sq-ft Bell Helicopter Singapore Supply Center on Loyang Industrial Park into a new 160,000-sq-foot facility at Seletar Aerospace Park. The new facility includes a hangar, office and space for maintenance and storage.” The regional sales and service center will support the Asia-Pacific region and include service centers for both Bell Helicopter and Cessna with a range of capabilities that includes aircraft sales, technical support, maintenance, overhaul, refurbishment, completions and customizing. Bell also plans to offer maintenance and flight training. In the past year, Bell Helicopter and Cessna have collaborated on regional parts distribution centers, maintenance centers and service facilities in Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Prague, Czech Republic; and Valencia, Spain. Announcements about additional collaborations are expected later this year.
